We're All In This Together!
I am not just the founder of eBookIt.com, I am also an self-published author, technically, now published through eBookIt.com. Getting published and making it available to people all over the world is an extremely vital step in the process, and by choosing eBookIt.com, you are well on your way. But in order get you and your book featured on Oprah, you've got some work to do -- we both do.
I cannot stress enough that simply making your book available in the sea of millions upon millions of books is just not enough. Your book, no matter how amazing, will remain hidden among the trillions of bits of data endlessly flowing in cyberspace.
It's All About Investment
The reason most authors search for publishers is because they know that publishers are actually investing in them, and their books. I heard that publishers invest an average of $30-50 thousand on each title! This includes, magazine ads, radio placement, bookstore promotions, etc. You certainly don't have to invest that much, but you do need to be prepared to invest something in your book.
Over the next several months I plan on posting updates, tips, and advice that you can follow in order to promote your book. My last book, Year To Success, sold over 10,000 copies and is still doing well today. While 10,000 copies may not break any sales records, that does put that book among the top 1% in sales of all published books, believe it or not.
This is a tough business, and requires a combination of clever thinking, some investment, persistence and patience. Keep at it and enjoy the ride!
